The difference in quality from the 4 color to 6 color can be shocking.
To help demonstrate this, here is a close up shot of a scan.
The top picture to the left is the high quality
(6 color) image scanned at normal size.
The same image expanded at 2x magnification. We lose some
quality in scanning, but we are able to then see the dot patterns that
aren't visible in the normal size above.
This is the same image, scanned from the 4 color print out.
It is still quite good when brought to normal size. But with this comparison
you are able to easily see the quality differences between the two color
schemes.
Notice the large dot patterns, and how much less smooth the transition
is between the gradient colors.
