| As you can see, The normal inkjet output smears
rather dramatically when wet.
The example at top right is standard HP black ink.
If you get caught in the rain, spill a cup of water, or anything
wet you will need to reprint for sure.
At bottom is a scan of some Lexmark 7200 output. I actually put about
2x's as much water on the Lexmark page when I was performing this test.
Lexmark has developed a pigment based ink rather than a water soluble
dye. As a result the ink doesn't soak into the paper the same way standard
inks do.
The odd widths of some of the characters in the text in these samples
is a result of scanning. It isn't indicative of the quality of either printer.
This demonstration is solely to make obvious the superior quality of the
ink's water fastness. |
