Topas Try Me's: Desk Lamp (Continued again)

6. The glass sides of the lamp are relatively simple.  Some of the actions you perfomed in the last section are repeated here.

BUILD -- SIMPLE -- POLYGON

BUILD -- COMPLEX -- BEVEL POLYGON

Next you will want to make a rectangle long and wide enough to cover the beveled end of the object we just made. If you have the grid on, you can easily line up the first line of the beveled object with the edge of the new rectangle.

BUILD -- SIMPLE -- RECTANGLE

MODIFY -- MOVE (Ctrl - F8)

MODIFY -- DRILL OBJECT

BUILD -- COMPLEX -- MIRROR

If you haven't been saving your work regularly now is a good time.

7. Now, we assemble all the parts that we have made, and get warm fuzzy feelings at being able to see progress.

MODIFY -- SHOW ALL

We need to get the glass set correctly in the screen.

MODIFY -- MATCH

Repeat for the other 'piece' of glass.

MODIFY -- MOVE (Ctrl - F8)

Remember that holding the 'Shift' key makes moving at 90 degree angles much more easy.

BUILD -- GROUPS --NEW GROUP

MODIFY -- MOVE (Ctrl - F8)

Move the 'hood' group until it is just touching the glass/screen group.
